Who doesn't love Star Wars? The popular franchise has created a crazy fan base similar to that of the fantasy football community. Ironically enough, many of these Star Wars fans are also fantasy football owners. So, I took the liberty of trying to come up with the 50 best Star Wars Team Names I could think of. Some are better than others, but thanks to some suggestions from Twitter, I was able to create a solid list that should crack a few laughs for you and your league mates.
I didn't think of it at first, but with ESPN league formats having Star Wars images as logos of fantasy teams, these names should serve as a perfect complement to your Stormtrooper team logo.
These fantasy football team names contain a vast range of content from across the Star Wars universe. The terminology is also integrated into many different ways. Such as within the NFL team name itself in the cases of the Seattle Ewoks, the Baltimore Reyvans, and the Oakland Vaders. Or in other cases creating entire sentences with players' names at the forefront. Le'Veon Bell is always a particularly fun name to use and creates The MileLeVeon Falcon captained by the newest Detriot Lion tight end: Levine Toil Solo. But, it is not just current NFL players that we like to poke fun at.
There are plenty of rookies that have thrown into the mix. When you have a guy like Saquon Barkley how can you not just call him Sa-Quon Ginn? The name rolls right off the tongue and has a nickname based on a Jedi Knight as a rookie? It would appear that the Wookie of the Year award is in sight for Sa-Quon. Just hope that he does not end up on the Giants, or else Darth Wayne Gallman will bust his double lightsaber out at training camp, and "cut" out his competition in the backfield. Remember he is on the Darkwa side, so he has the power. I mean Sith Happens am I right?
My personal favorites are still the Star Wars Team Names that contain a play on words. Jedi Mind Fitz, Attack of the Julio Jones, and Let the FAAB Be With You are all great in my opinion. But the real question is not that if these names are significant or not, but what is worse? Attack of the Clones or Attack of the Julio Jones when you see him in your opponent's lineup. Not to worry though, if your league has not Let The FAAB through your veins, then a simple Jedi Mind Fitz should trick your opponent into thinking the Millennium Falcons have has a bye week this week. Sure, it would seem like a scummy or rebel move on your part, but remember it's Star Wars.When you find out your opponent is about as smart as JuJu Binks-Schuster you take advantage. So when somebody offers you garbage trade deals for your upcoming wide receiver stud Tyler Boyd, you say you want at least four Wookie Draft Picks, The Ashes of Uncle Ben, and Delanie Skywalker or its a no-deal. If they are not willing to pay up the Parsec, you merely reply, "Brees Aren't The Tyler Boyds You're Looking For!"
